A postural assessment is the first thing many coaches do with a new client: a side view, a back view, a plumb line real or imagined, and a list of deviations, forward head, rounded or protracted shoulders, an exaggerated or flattened low back curve, a hip that sits higher than the other, a spine that does not run straight. The list is easy to make. The two questions that matter are whether the measurements are repeatable and what a finding should lead to, and the newest evidence answers both, one reassuringly and one with a caution.
