No drug reliably reverses Alzheimer's disease, which is why the two levers ordinary people can pull - movement and food - attract so much hope. The hope is not misplaced, but it is uneven. For exercise, there is a coherent biological story and consistent human data: aerobic training changes the brain in measurable ways and tracks with lower dementia risk. For diet, there is a plausible metabolic idea about feeding a brain that has stopped using glucose well, and a set of small, short trials that do not yet amount to a treatment.
