Every boxing gym has an opinion on whether lifting helps or hurts a punch. The measured evidence is smaller than the opinions, but it is consistent in one direction: the boxers who produce the most lower-body power hit the hardest, and short blocks of power training move punch measures in the right direction. What the evidence cannot yet tell you is how much a given programme adds to a given fighter.
