"Exercise is good for the brain" is the claim every gym poster makes and almost nobody quantifies. Coaches want to know three things: how big the effect is, which kind of training and which dose produce it, and whether it holds for the client in front of them or only for the older adults in the studies. The largest synthesis ever assembled on the question was published in 2025, and an umbrella review of the older-adult literature now grades how much of it to trust.
