Testing Chest Flexibility: The Passive Horizontal Abduction Test and Its Limits

A tight chest is blamed for rounded shoulders, poor overhead position and a pressing bench that will not touch. The usual check is simple: lie on your back, arm out to the side, and see how far it drops behind the body. Whether that test measures what it claims, and how repeatable the number is, has been looked at.
