A cycling mesocycle is a block of roughly ten weeks with a job: raise weekly volume through a build phase, hold it through a peak, and cut it back so the rider arrives at a target event fresh. Most published plans lay it out by weekly mileage, so a rider aiming at 150 or 250 kilometres a week can follow a table. The table is the easy part; the evidence sits in two questions the table hides, how the kilometres should be split by intensity, and how the last fortnight should be cut.
