The mini trampoline, or rebounder, is a low sprung mat about a metre across on which the exerciser bounces in place. It is sold as cardio for people who cannot run, and it has a loyal following in group classes and home gyms. The technique is simpler than the marketing suggests, and the two questions worth asking are how hard the exercise actually is and what a programme of it changes; both have been measured.
